Upper Primary Department

The Upper Primary Department comprises Grade 4 – 6 with two streams (Daisy and Tulip) at each level. The leaners are between the ages of 9 – 11 and the class sizes are small with a class facilitator. Aside from the small class sizes, other facilities that promote effective teaching and learning in the department are the science laboratory, ICT laboratory and library.

The Upper Primary serves as a preparatory ground for potential Junior High Students. Here, learners are taught by facilitators in the following subjects: Literacy, Science, Numeracy, French language, ICT, Creative Arts, Ghanaian Language, Our World Our People (OWOP), Religious and Moral Education (RME), History and UCMAS.

All our facilitators are highly educated and have years of experience in education. They do their best to ensure interesting and educational lessons to enable learners to acquire basic knowledge and social skills they can implement in future. Also, monthly reports are written by facilitators to monitor the performances of learners for proper diagnoses to address deficiencies. These, coupled with audio-visual learning aids and our IT integration policy provides pupils with an in-depth understanding of lessons.

The instruction modules for this department is child-centered and learners are nurtured in all dimensions of life: cultural, moral, emotional, physical, cognitive, imaginative and social.
To give a social balance to education in the Upper Primary Department, learners are engaged in club activities by very experienced resource persons. Clubs in the department include Red Cross, Wild Life, Girls Guide, TechWorld, and Videography.

Globen School is a place for the comprehensive development of learners, therefore we happily extend a hand of welcome to all parents to enrol their wards.
